Hunt Glen Amenities
The Club House
Welcoming everyone to our community is the club house situated at the entrance east-west crossroad. The club house consists of a covered front porch, a large cupola foyer with french doors leading to a banquet room and adjacent kitchen in back, french doors opening to two smaller meeting rooms on either side, and a patio beyond the great room.
This facility is used frequently for community sponsored social gatherings and may be reserved in advance (subject to availability) by residents for private parties as well. Community social events range from large pot luck or catered affairs to low key Saturday morning coffees and Friday afternoon "Wine and Cheese". The executive board, our many volunteer committees and other social groups (such as book club and crafts) also meet regularly at the club house.
The Walking Trail, Sidewalks and Street Lights
Compact in size, Hunt Glen is a very walkable neighborhood. Many residents are seen out walking along the trail and sidewalks at all hours of the day and in all seasons of the year. The private walking trail stretches along the perimeter of the complex. Street lights illuminate village roads and sidewalks, permitting safe travel for everyone after dark.
Residents enjoy the active community lifestyle. Walking is a great way to meet and greet their neighbors, their dogs, their grandchildren and other guests. Weather permitting, residents can also visit with their neighbors on porches and decks.
The Village at Hunt Glen is situated within walking distance of a small shopping center which offers such things as groceries, a pharmacy, a bank, a mini-department store, a coffee shop, an emergency medical treatment center, and a full service fitness and swim center.
We are across the road from the McLean Game Refuge which offers miles of wooded trails. We are convenient to Salmon Brook Park with its sports fields, tennis courts and dog park. The Simsbury Meadows, which is home to the Talcott Mountain Summer Music Festival, is only a few miles away. The nationally accredited Granby Senior Center with its very active program offerings is only two miles away in the center of Granby.
Many take advantage of our proximity (within a half mile) to the Farmington Valley Greenway bicycle and walking trail which extends 16 miles both north and south of Granby. Also many owners are members of the YMCA fitness and swim center, which is also a half mile away.
For those traveling or having visiting family members, we are located near Bradley International airport and the Amtrak stop in Windsor Locks. We are also only minutes away from interstates 84, 90, and 91, which will take you throughout the New England area.
